साइक्लोन चक्रवात हिन्द महासागरिय क्षेत्र में आते हैं। टारनेडो चक्रवात कैरोवियन सागरीय क्षेत्र में आते हैं। टाईफून चक्रवात पश्चिम प्रशांत महासागरिय क्षेत्र में आते हैं। हरीकेन चक्रवात पश्चिम अटलांटिक महासागरिय क्षेत्र में आते हैं।

विली विली चक्रवात आस्ट्रेलिया के उत्तर पश्चिम क्षेत्र में आते हैं। चक्रवात शब्द का प्रयोग भारत में किया जाता हैं। हरिकेन मैक्सिको की खाड़ी में बोला जाता हैं। टारनेडो USA में बोला जाता हैं।

उत्तरी गोलार्ध में निम्न दाब तंत्र वाला वामावर्त पवन चक्रवात कहलाता हैं। चक्रवात की आकृति अंडकार जैसी दिखाई देती हैं। टोरनेडो नामक चक्रवात सबसे अधिक विनाशकारी होता है। उत्तरी गोलार्ध में वायु की दिशा वामावर्त होती है। दक्षिणी गोलार्ध में चक्रवात की दिशा दक्षिणावर्ती होती हैं। सागरीय क्षेत्रो में नदी का मुहाना जिससे प्राय ज्वार आता रहता है, एस्चूअरी कहलाता हैं।USA में मिसिसिपी मैदान वाले क्षेत्र को टारनेडो एली कहा जाता हैं। टारनेडो की तीव्रता का मापन फुजीटा स्केल से किया जाता हैं।

In the Northern Hemisphere, a low-pressure counterclockwise wind cyclone is called.  The shape of the cyclone resembles that of an undercarrow.  The cyclone called Tornado is the most destructive.  The wind direction is counterclockwise in the Northern Hemisphere.  In the Southern Hemisphere, the wind direction is clockwise.  The estuaries are the estuaries of the river in the ocean areas that often bring the tide. Where in the USA is the Ternado Alley area in the Mississippi plain.  The intensity of the tornado is measured by the Fujita scale.
