भारत में मुख्यत 6 प्रकार के वन पाए जाते हैं जैसे - पर्वतीय वन, मानसूनी वन, उष्ण कटिबंधीय सदाबहार वन, घास के वन, मरुस्थलीय वन, डेल्टा के वन। भारत में शांकुधारी वन हिमालय की अधिक ऊंचाई पर पाए जाते हैं।साल वन सतपुड़ा पर्वत पर पाए जाते है। देवदार वृक्ष 1600 से 3500 की ऊचाई पर पाए जाते हैं।शंकुधारी वन शीत शीतोष्ण क्षेत्रो में पाए जाते हैं। विश्व में काष्ठ ईधन का सबसे बड़ा उत्पादक देश भारत है। विश्व में मुलायम लकड़ी एवम लकड़ी की लुगदी का सबसे बड़ा उत्पादक एवम निर्यातक देश कनाडा हैं। विश्व में उष्ण कटिबन्धीय वन क्षेत्र सर्वाधिक है। विश्व में सबसे बड़े वा घने वन ब्राजील में पाए जाते हैं। भूमध्य रेखा के निकट उष्ण कटिबन्धीय वन पाए जाते हैं। प्रथ्वी पर घने- सघन वन अधिकतर विषुवत रेखा के पास पाए जाते हैं। विस्तृत उष्ण कटिबंधीय वर्षा वन कांगेवेसीन, इंडोनेशिया, अमेज़नवेसीन पर पाए जाते हैं। लौकाट सदाबहार फलवृक्ष है। भारत में सर्वाधिक वन मध्यप्रदेश में पाए जाते है। भारत में सबसे कम वन हरियाणा में पाए जाते है।

Sal forests are found on the Satpura mountain.  Cedar trees are found at altitudes from 1600 to 3500.  Coniferous forests are found in cold temperate regions.  India is the largest producer of wood fuel in the world.  Canada is the largest producer and exporter of soft wood and pulp in the world.  Tropical forest area is the highest in the world.  The largest and most dense forests in the world are found in Brazil.Tropical forests are found near the equator.  On the earth, dense dense forests are mostly found near the equinox.  Extensive tropical rain forests are found on Kangwesin, Indonesia, Amazon Vasine.  Laukat is an evergreen fruit tree.  Maximum forest in India is found in Madhya Pradesh.  The lowest forests in India are found in Haryana.
