हिमालय पर्वत के स्थान पर टेथिज नामक सागर था। लघु हिमालय शिवालिक और महान हिमालय के मध्य स्थित हैं।

नन्दा देवी चोटी कुमाऊं हिमालय का भाग है। उत्तराखंड की सबसे ऊंची चोटी नन्दा देवी पर्वत चोटी है।

K 2 के बाद भारत की सबसे ऊंची चोटी कंचन जंगा - सिक्किम में स्थित हैं। भारत की सबसे पुरानी पर्वत श्रंखला अरावली पर्वत श्रंखला है।

सात परतों वाला पहाड़ सतपुड़ा पर्वत को कहा जाता है।नीलगिरी पहाड़ को नीले पहाड़ के नाम से जानते हैं।इलायची पर्वत भारत देश में स्थित हैं।

 भारत की नवीनतम पर्वत श्रेणी हिमालय पर्वत है।माउंट एवरेस्ट का नाम भारत के एक महान सर्वेक्षक के नाम पर पड़ा। पश्चिमी घाट पर्वतमाला सह्याद्रि के नाम से जानी जाती हैं।

 छोटा नागपुर के पठार की सबसे ऊंची चोटी पारसनाथ चोटी है। माउंट एवरेस्ट को सागरमाथा और चीलुनगमा के नाम से जाना जाता हैं।

 सतपुड़ा की पहाड़ियां नर्मदा और ताप्ती नदियों के बीच है।कार्डेमम पहाड़ी या इलायची की पहाड़ी केरल राज्य में स्थित हैं। कोडाईकनाल- पालनी -पर्वत श्रंखला पर स्थित हैं।

 नीलगिरी की पहाड़ियां तमिलनाडु राज्य में स्थित हैं। ग्वालियर का किला विध्यांचल पर्वत पर स्थित है। उज्जैन शहर मालवा के पठार पर स्थित हैं।

दुनिया की सबसे ऊंची पर्वत चोटी माउंट एवरेस्ट 8848 मीटर नेपाल में स्थित है।

 भारत की सबसे ऊंची पर्वत चोटी गा डविन ऑस्टिन K-2 काराकोरम पर्वत - पाक अधिकृत कश्मीर में स्थित है।

 अरावली पर्वत की सबसे ऊंची चोटी गुरुशिखर हैं। दक्षिण भारत की सबसे ऊंची चोटी अनैमुडी चोटी है।

 नीलगिरी पर्वत की सबसे ऊंची चोटी दादा - बेटा है। अंडमान निकोबार की सबसे ऊंची चोटी सैडल है। भारत का सबसे बड़ा हिमनद ग्लेशियर सियाचीन ग्लेशियर है।

नीलगिरी पर्वत- भारत, ब्लैक फॉरेस्ट पर्वत - जर्मनी भ्रशोत्थ पर्वत के उदाहरण हैं। हिमालय पर्वत वलित पर्वत का उदाहरण हैं।

 फ्युजीयामा- जापान, एटना पर्वत- सिसली, विसुवियस- इटली, किलिमंजारो - तंजानिया , ज्वालामुखी पर्वत के उदाहरण हैं।

The latest mountain range of India is the Himalayan mountain range.  Mount Everest is named after a great surveyor of India.  The Western Ghat Mountains are known as Mala Sahyadri.

Parasnath peak is the highest peak of the Chota Nagpur plateau.  Mount Everest is known as Sagarmatha and Chilangama.

The Satpura hills lie between the Narmada and the Tapti rivers.  Kardemam hill or cardamom hill are located in the state of Kerala.  Kodaikanal - Located on the Palani mountain range.

The Nilgiri Hills are located in the state of Tamil Nadu.  The fort of Gwalior is situated on the Vidyanchal mountain.  The city of Ujjain is located on the plateau of Malwa.
