          * विश्व के प्रमुख पठार*

ग्रीनलैंड का पठार - अंध महासागर के उत्तरी भाग में लगभग 21,75,600 वर्ग किलोमीटर क्षेत्र में हिम से ढका विशाल पठार है। इसे ग्रीनलैंड का पठार कहा जाता है।

कोलंबिया का पठार - यह USA के ओरगन वाशिंगटन एवं इडाहो राज्यों के मध्य 4,62,500 वर्ग किलोमीटर क्षेत्र में विस्तृत रूप में फैला है।

मेक्सिको का पठार - यह पठार पश्चिम सियारामाद्रे और पूर्वी सियारामाद्रे पर्वत श्रेणियों के मध्य स्थित है।

तिब्बत का पठार - यह हिमालय के उत्तर क्यूनलुन पर्वत के दक्षिण में 4000 से 5000 मीटर तक की ऊंचाई पर स्थित है।

मंगोलिया का पठार - यह चीन के उत्तरी मध्य भाग में मंगोलिया गढ़ राज्य में स्थित है।

ब्राजील का पठार - दक्षिणी अमेरिका के मध्य पूर्वी भाग में यह त्रिभुजाकार रूप में स्थित है।

बोलीविया का पठार - यह 800 किलोमीटर लंबा और 128 किलोमीटर चौड़ा तथा इसकी औसत ऊंचाई 3110 मीटर है, यह बोलीविया के एंडीज पर्वतमाला क्षेत्र में विस्तृत रूप में फैला है।

अलास्का का पठार -  इसका निर्माण यूकन और उसकी सहायक नदियों द्वारा हुआ है, अतः इसे यूकन का पठार भी कहा जाता है, कनाडा की ओर इसकी ऊंचाई 900 मीटर है।

ग्रेट बेसिन का पठार - यह कोलंबिया पठार के दक्षिण में कोलोरेडो और कोलंबिया नदियों के मध्य 5,25,000 वर्ग किलोमीटर क्षेत्र में विस्तृत है।

कोलोरेडो का पठार - यह ग्रेट बेसिन के दक्षिण में स्थित है, तथा इसका विस्तार युटाह और एरीजोना राज्यो में पाया जाता है।

दक्कन का पठार - यह पठार दक्षिण भारत में स्थित है, इसे तीन ओर से पर्वत श्रेणियों ने घेर रखा है, इसके पूर्व में पूर्वी घाट, पश्चिम में पश्चिमी घाट, तथा उत्तर में  विध्यांचल एवं सतपुड़ा की श्रेणियां हैं।

ईरान का पठार - इसे एशिया माइनर का पठार या ईरान का मध्यवर्ती पठार भी कहा जाता है, इसकी औसत ऊंचाई 900 से 1500 मीटर के मध्य है।

अरब का पठार - यह दक्षिण पश्चिम एशिया में स्थित है, इसके पूर्व में फारस की खाड़ी, पश्चिम में लाल सागर, उत्तर पश्चिम में भूमध्य सागर और दक्षिण में अरब सागर स्थित है।

अनातोलिया का पठार - यहां टर्की के पेंटिक एवं टौरस श्रेणियां के मध्य स्थित है, इसे टर्की का पठार भी कहते हैं, इसकी औसत ऊंचाई 800 मीटर है।

अबीसीनिया का पठार - यह पठार पूर्वी अफ्रीका के सोमालिया, इथियोपिया एवं जिबूती के क्षेत्र में विस्तृत रूप में फैला है, इन तीनों देशों को संयुक्त रूप से हॉर्न ऑफ अफ्रीका कहा जाता है।

मेडागास्कर का पठार - मेडागास्कर द्वीप अफ्रीका के दक्षिण-पूर्व हिंद महासागर में स्थित है, ऐसे द्वीप के मध्यवर्ती भाग पठारी हैं, जिसे मेडागास्कर या मालागासी का पठार कहा जाता हैं।

ऑस्ट्रेलिया का पठार - ऑस्ट्रेलिया के पश्चिमी भाग में ऑस्ट्रेलिया का पठार स्थित है, इसकी सामान्य ऊंचाई 180 से 600 मीटर के मध्य है, इस पठार का दक्षिणी भाग मरुस्थलीय है।

चियापास का पठार - यह दक्षिणी मेक्सिको के प्रशांत महासागर के तट पर स्थित है, इसके उत्तर में तबास्को, दक्षिण पश्चिम में तेहुआ न्टेपेक की खाड़ी, पूर्व में ग्वाटेमाला और पश्चिम में ओकस्का और बैराक्रूज स्थित है।

मेसेटा का पठार - स्पेन के आईबेरियन प्रायद्वीप पर मैसेटा का पठार स्थित है, इस पठार की औसत ऊंचाई 610 मीटर है।

इंडो चीन का पठार - यह दक्षिण एशिया के पूर्वी प्रायद्वीप पर स्थित है, इस भाग पर सालविन,सीकांग,मीकांग,मीनान आदि नदियां प्रवाहित होती हैं।

Great Basin Plateau - It is spread over an area of ​​5,25,000 square kilometers between the Colorado and Columbia rivers south of the Columbia Plateau. 

Colorado Plateau - It lies to the south of the Great Basin, and is found in the states of Yutah and Arizona.

Deccan Plateau - This plateau is located in South India, surrounded by mountain ranges on three sides, the Eastern Ghats in the east, the Western Ghats in the west, and the ranges of Vidyanchal and Satpura in the north.

Plateau of Iran - It is called the plateau of Asia Minor or intermediate plateau of Iran, its average elevation is between 900 to 1500 meters.

Arabian Plateau - It is located in Southwest Asia, with the Persian Gulf to its east, the Red Sea to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the northwest, and the Arabian Sea to the south.

Anatolia Plateau - It is situated between the Pentic and Torus ranges of Turkey, also known as the Plateau of Turkey, with an average elevation of 800 meters.

Abyssinia Plateau - This plateau is widely spread over the region of Somalia, Ethiopia and Djibouti in East Africa, these three countries are jointly called the Horn of Africa. 

Madagascar Plateau - The island of Madagascar is located in the southeast Indian Ocean of Africa, the intermediate parts of the island are plateaus, known as the Madagascar or Malagasy Plateau.

Plateau of Australia - Australia's plateau is located in the western part of Australia, its normal elevation is between 180 to 600, the southern part of this plateau is desert. 

Chiapas Plateau - It is located on the shores of the Pacific Ocean in southern Mexico, with Tabasco to its north, Bay of Tahua Natepec to the southwest, Guatemala to the east and Okaska and Veracruz to the west.

Meseta Plateau - The Meseta Plateau is located on Spain's I Berian Peninsula, with an average elevation of 610 meters. 

Plateau of Indo China - It is located on the eastern peninsula of South Asia, on this part of which rivers like Salvin Sekong Mekong Meenan etc. flow.
